So give it a rest, and wait and see what Factions will bring.

I highly doubt they'll strengthened mesmer, even they did in Factions I am sure they will eventually weakened the mesmer skill during any future skill balance update again. You should had realized some mesmer skills was weakened quite a bit during the first and second skill balance update. which I found it what so called skill balance was bogus. (Most of those changes redure shorter duration, increase energy cost, and redure less energy stealing)
I don't enjoy working with henchman this much since they're lack of intelligence but most quest and mission I done it with henchman if possible to do it. Therefore at first not being able to find a group to join is no problem at all but later on when I got to Sorrow's Furnace, Fissure of Woe, Tomb of the Primeval Kings, and Underworld. I don't exactly have a choice to work with henchman, in fact most of those places are not possible to bring henchman but real players. From that point on, I found it most unfair and that is starting to bother me, people spam LFG nuker, ss necro, mm necro, b/p ranger, tank, bonder, or healer. I rarely see anyone looking for mesmer to join them.

i consider Memsers to be highly effective, in the correct hands, ive managed all but one bonus (dunes mission) with henches, i cannot say the same for my other classes (all other 5), but i cant say ive put too much though into it (necro would be 2cnd easyest mind)

The only skills that were ever weakened were those that were quite obviously broken, Hex breaker comes to mind. Also many skills were hit not because mesmers used them but because other classes used them, as an example look at Resolve, when does a mesmer get interupted exactly?
In Factions, beyond the elite interupt Psychic Instability was it?, not much is over powered. Some lines, mainly Illusion, recieved a buff it horribly needed not to mention more skills to choose from, and some areas of the mesmer lines recieved some more "junkie" things.

Few Pugs ever "look" for a mesmer, but if you see someone scouting for players then PM them and ask. Many will be fine to take you along, other won't but that is their own choice.

Well, I mostly upset about the 4 inspiration magic skills they changed:
ether feast
energy tap
energy drain
mantra of persistence
Also a few weeks ago they increased the lose of energy for avoiding each attack on using distortion.

Well, up to 90% of time if they are not saying looking for mesmer in their group then they don't want you at all even if you ask them to let you join in. Some people when you ask them they just ignored you, some people just giving you hard time for bothering them, and rarely they will respond tp you and let you join the group. I found the advance player seem to be less sensible than newer player. A lot of advance players only go for exact build as the way they want regardless of leaving out other profession whom want to join in.

Distortion's change will have no effect on a mesmer, 13 Illusion is not all that hard to have. The skill itself was rather broken in its capability before. The E-drain/tap were too powerful in their energy denial, the two could, alone, steal all the energy from several targets with their fast recharge.

Well I feel sorry for my lil pve mes, she never gets to play out ever!! The reason for this is too many of my friends wanna play their mes
Mesmers are only useless to the stupid, do you really want to be in a pug who wants 3 warriors 3 monks and 2 ele's, think I'd rather take Hench
Mesmers we love you!!! don't be sad

I play my mesmer most of the time and she can adapt to any situation.
If not going full mesmer then I can have her nuke/air spike/wards/necro SS/wells
Mesmers are good because they can do anything. Now you can argue that all professions can play variations of other professions (excluding warrior and ranger for their limited energy) but mesmers do it better because of fast cast.
I can get 2 meteor showers and be casting the next skill while the ele is just finished casting one meteor.
